Notice of Public Comment Period and Subsequent Public Hearing for FYE28 MTW Supplement to the Annual Plan and the FYB27 Annual Plan

HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF NEW SMYRNA BEACH
FYE28 MOVING TO WORK SUPPLEMENT
TO THE ANNUAL PLAN AND THE FYB27 ANNUAL PLAN

August 17, 2026

The Housing Authority of the City of New Smyrna Beach (HACNSB) is seeking public input on its FYE 28 Moving to Work (MTW) Supplement and the FYB 27 Annual Plan. The MTW Program is designed to (1) reduce costs and achieve greater cost effectiveness in federal expenditures, (2) increase self-sufficiency among families served, and (3) increase housing choices for low-income families. The MTW Supplement and Annual Plan outlines the HACNSB strategies, proposed activities, and uses of agency funds for the period of April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2028 that coincide with the FYB 27 Annual Plan.

The public comment period will begin Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and end Tuesday, October 13, 2026. NSBHA will conduct a public hearing Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at 214 Sams Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. The NSBHA's Board of Commissioners will receive verbal and/or written comments on the Supplement and Annual plan

The Supplement and Annual Plan will be available for review beginning Wednesday, August 26, 2026, online at https://www.newsmyrnahousing.com and at 1101 S. Dixie Freeway, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Public participation in the process is encouraged. Attendance at the public hearing is not mandatory. All oral and/or written comments submitted by the close of the comment period will be considered. No comments will be considered after the close of the comment period.
