Annual Back to School Backpack Bash
In Honor of Tim Hankerson
Babe James Community Center
Saturday, August 1st from 10am-1pm
Join The Housing Authority of the City of New Smyrna Beach, New Smyrna Beach Leisure Services, City of New Smyrna Beach, Daytona TOYOTA, Berlin & Denys Insurance, Coronado Community United Methodist Church, and AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach THIS SATURDAY at the Babe James Community Center.
We will be giving away backpacks stuffed with school supplies to school-aged children and teens as well as backpacks with teacher supplies for teachers from 10am until 1pm.
There will be free hotdogs for kids (while supplies last) and free Kona Ice for the first 500 children.
Vendors will be set up indoors and outdoors with additional supplies and goodies. Food trucks and a bounce house will be located in the Babe James parking lot.
From 1pm to 3pm join us in the gym for a family-friendly wrestling event!
It is our belief that no child should start the school year unprepared. It warms our hearts to see the community come together to ensure this doesn't happen in Southeast Volusia County.
If your child is in need of a backpack and school supplies, please come see us! With the help of our donors and sponsors we were able to raise 1,612 backpacks for students in need!
