New Requirements for Disabled and Elderly Households

All non-elderly, non-disabled adults over the age of 18 who are not NSBHA-approved live-in aides living in a disabled or elderly household, where the head or co-head/spouse is disabled or elderly, are now subject to the following requirements:

 

Requirements:

  1. Work Requirement. You must work a minimum of 15 or more hours per week by October 1, 2026.
  2. Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program. You must enroll in the FSS program by October 1, 2026.
  3. Term Limits. You will now be subject to a housing term limit of nine (9) years beginning with the household's next full triennial recertifcication.
